# How to upload and manage customised music on hold

You can replace the default **Music on Hold** played during call holding at the account level. This allows callers to recognize that their call is on hold, for example, during a transfer.\
To upload a custom **Music on Hold** MP3 file, you must be logged into your sipgate account as an **Administrator**.

#### Steps to add custom hold music

Go to **Account Administration** ➔ **Customisation**.\
Scroll down to the **Call hold** section and click the **gear icon.**

Click **Upload MP3** to add your custom audio file. Your file must be in **MP3 format** and can be up to **10 MB** in size. You can **rename, delete, or select** which hold music file to use.

Click **Save** to apply your changes.

The uploaded file will now replace the default hold music played when calls are put on hold across your account.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://teamhelp.sipgate.co.uk/use-sipgate/telephony/how-to-upload-and-manage-customised-music-on-hold.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
