Cisco SPA range ATA Adaptors

The following guide will help configure Cisco SPA range adaptors with your sipgate account.

To configure your Cisco you'll need your SIPID and SIP Password.

To access your Cisco adapter's settings menus, you'll need to enter the adapter's IP address into a internet browser using a computer on the same local network.

To find your Cisco adapter's IP address:

• Connect a telephone handset to your adaptor;
  
• Now dial: ****
• Next dial:  110 #
• The IP address of your adaptor will be called out; 
• Enter the IP address into the address bar of your internet browser (i.e. type in http://<IP ADDRESS>/ )
  

If you run into problems, please see your adapter's manual for more detailed information.

In your adaptor's settings menus click Admin Login and then select Advanced View. Otherwise all settings will not be displayed.

Open Voice --> EXT or Line to enter your sipgate account specific information:

Click Submit All Changes and then open the SIP tab:

Under the 'Network Setup'  --> 'Basic Setup' --> 'Time Settings' set the NTP Time Server to:

ntp.sipgate.net

Testing your Phone's setup:

To test your phone's configuration, please dial the following sipgate numbers:

• 10000
• 10005
• 10020

If you have problems registering your Cisco SPA online or with making calls:

• Enable the "STUN Server" setting under SIP --> NAT Support Parameters (second image above)
  
• Power your router and Cisco off and on before testing again. 
  

If you use an older analogue (BT) telephone and do not receive a ringing tone on inbound calls you may require a special adapter cable called RJ11 to BTS adaptor with ring capacitor. This cable will provide the expected ringing signal for UK analogue phones when used with US American manufacturer's adapters.

Using Multiple Phones Behind the Same Router:

If there's more than one VoIP phone/device on the same local network, the following local UDP port numbering scheme will avoid port conflicts.

For each SIP Phone or device you add, please increment the Local SIP UDP Port and RTP Port values by 100:
