How can I allow notifications for the sipgate web app?

Why does the sipgate web app need notifications?

The sipgate web app uses notifications to inform you about incoming calls, even if your browser is in the background or the app is open in another tab. Without this permission, you won't be notified of incoming calls and could miss important conversations.

If you accidentally denied access to notifications or reset the permissions when you first opened the app, you can find instructions here on how to subsequently allow access.

Errors and Solutions

If you still experience problems with notifications after changing the settings:

  1. Check browser settings: Make sure that notifications are generally allowed in the general browser settings.
  2. Check system settings: On some operating systems, you may also need to allow browser notifications in the system settings.
    • Windows: Settings System Notifications & Actions
    • macOS: System Preferences Notifications
    • Linux: Depending on the distribution used
  3. Restart browser: Restart your browser completely and try again.
  4. Clear cache: Clear your browser cache and reload the page.

Importance of notifications

Note: Keep in mind that without notifications enabled, you won't receive notifications of incoming calls if the browser is in the background or the app is open in another tab.
