Audio Transcription (Speech-to-Text)
Why is transcription needed?
Transcription enables various productivity features during phone calls, such as displaying relevant conversation details, detecting data for calendar entries, and call forecasting, like word count analysis.
What happens during audio transcription?
During the call, audio streams from both parties are temporarily stored and converted into text. For this process, we use a large language model hosted and operated by sipgate. Once the transcription is completed, the audio data is deleted immediately, and the summary is based solely on the stored text version.
What information is captured during audio transcription?
The transcription converts the spoken words of both participants into text. This enables features like displaying important conversation details, detecting data for calendar entries, and generating call statistics.
What is the legal basis for processing personal data?
The legal basis is the user’s consent according to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
What happens to the transcribed data?
The transcription is used to provide AI features like call summaries or phone statistics. Data is processed according to GDPR.
How long is data stored at OpenAI?
The data is temporarily stored at OpenAI to create the transcription and summary. Once the transcription is complete, the data is immediately deleted. There is no further storage of the data, and OpenAI does not use it for training its language models.
Call Summaries and Topic Analysis
How are summaries and topic analysis performed?
The transcription of the call is summarized and analyzed based on the topics discussed using OpenAI’s GPT service.
Call Forecasts
How do call forecasts work?
Based on your calls with the sipgate App, machine learning analyzes the expected call volume for the upcoming week. These forecasts help you better plan your team’s resources in advance.
