How do I start Call Conferencing with sipgate?
How do phone conferences work?
Multiple participants, easy dial-in, and flexible number assignment – with the conference room, you can organise group calls flexibly.
The conference room accommodates up to 25 participants and allows easy dial-in without requiring a PIN. You can choose which of your local or international phone numbers to assign to the conference room. Both UK and international numbers can be assigned simultaneously.
Once you’ve booked the room for group calls, it can be accessed from any device worldwide and is available during the trial phase. Anyone you share the conferencing phone number with can call in to join, and new participants are announced by a beep. You can book multiple conference rooms per account, and up to 25 callers can join a single call.
To add conferencing to your sipgate account, an administrator must go to the Account Administration section and select Plans & Packages. From there, the Conference Room plan (£29.95/month ex VAT) can be booked. Immediately after booking, you can assign a conference name and dial-in numbers.
Booking and managing a conference room
Only admins can book the conference room, and you can cancel it on a monthly basis. To book a conference room, go to the account management section under "Conference Rooms." Once booked, you can rename the room and assign an available phone number through routing.
Secure phone conferences
The sipgate conference room does not require a PIN. However, you always have control over your phone conferences. How? Each sipgate conference room has its own dedicated phone number, ensuring that no multiple accounts share the same room. The following features are available for your conferences:
- An audible signal to notify you when you’re the first to join the room
- A signal to announce new participants
- The ability to assign any new phone number to the conference room at any time
- The option to enable or disable the conference room as needed
