How do I prepare a .CSV File for import on Windows?

How to ensure your CSV contact file is saved in UTF-8 format on Windows for importing into sipgate.

In addition to being able to create, edit, and add contacts directly in Contacts, it is also possible to import and export contacts via a .csv or .txt file. It is important to ensure these files are in the UTF-8 (Unicode) format.

To ensure your CSV file is in UTF-8 with Windows, please

1. Open your file with Notepad

2. Click on File ➔ Save As

3. Under Encoding please select UTF-8.

4. Under Save as type please select Text Documents (*.txt).

5. Click Save
