How can I change my Phone's Local SIP & RTP Ports?

Instructions for changing local SIP and RTP port settings on common VoIP deskphones and softphones used with sipgate.

Setting your VoIP phones to use unique and relatively high local SIP and RTP (Audio) UDP ports can avoid many router and firewall related issuesarrow-up-right. Some multi-line VoIP devices use a global Local SIP port (e.g. Aastra, Siemens/Gigaset and Snom devices). Other multi-line devices use a different Local SIP Port for each active account or line (e.g. Grandstream, Yealink deskphones and Cisco/Linksys Small Business devices). The Local SIP Port is sometimes called the SIP Signalling, Listen, or Source port. The Local RTP Ports may be called Audio or Media ports.

Important: If your phone has an option to use Random Ports please disable this.

Common Deskphones

Snom Under AdvancedSIP/RTP the Local SIP Port is called the 'Network Identity Port' and the Local RTP Ports are called the 'Dynamic RTP Port Start/End'

Grandstream The 'Local SIP Port' is located in the 'Account' menus and the 'Local RTP Port' will be in the 'General' or 'Advanced Settings' menu. Each line or account should be allocated a different Local SIP Port value.

Siemens/Gigaset: The local ports are located under TelephonyAdvancedListen Ports for VoIP Connections. Please do not enable the options to use Random Ports.

DrayTek To change a DrayTek's Local SIP Port please see this DrayTek Help articlearrow-up-right. A different Local SIP Port value should be chosen for each active Index.

Aastra The Local SIP and RTP ports are under 'Advanced Settings' on the 'Global SIP' page. A different Local SIP Port value should be chosen for each active account.

Cisco/Linkys SPA Each 'EXT' or 'Line' under 'SIP Settings' has a 'SIP Port' setting. The RTP ports will be found under VoiceSIPRTP Parameters. A different Local SIP Port value should be chosen for each active Ext or Line.

Common Softphones

PhonerLite Open ConfigurationNetworkLocal Port. The RTP port used by PhonerLite will be set to two ports higher than the chosen Local (SIP) Port.

Zoiper Desktop Open SettingsPreferencesAdvancedNetwork. Under 'SIP Options' the Local SIP Port can be changed and the starting RTP port can be chosen under 'RTP Options'. Please disable the options to use Random Ports.

Zoiper (Apple iOS) Click on SettingsAdvanced to change Zoiper's Local SIP and RTP Port settings. Please disable the options to use Random Ports.

Zoiper (Android) You'll find the Local SIP and Starting Local RTP Port settings under 'Config' ➔ 'Connectivity' ➔ 'Listening Ports'. Please disable the options to use Random Ports.

CSIP Simple From the Menu below the dial pad select 'Settings' ➔ 'Network' to change CSIP local ports. The Local SIP Port is called the 'UDP Port - port number to bind locally'. With the Expert set up Wizard selected, each VoIP account can also be allocated a different "Port for RTP ports range start". Each VoIP account can be assigned a different Local RTP Port.

Bria (Apple iOS) From the dial pad click 'Settings' ➔ 'Advanced Settings'. Under 'Media Options' the SIP Port Range and 'RTP Port Range for Audio' can be chosen. The Start and End SIP Ports should be the same value (don't use a range of SIP ports).

Bria (Android) From the dial pad click the Gear icon to access Bria's settings. Tap on 'Advanced Settings' to change Bria's 'SIP Port' and 'RTP Port Audio' settings. The Start and End SIP Ports should be the same value (don't use a range of SIP ports).

Bria Desktop and X-Lite Open Your sipgate account Settings and click on the 'Topology' tab to change the softphone's Local SIP ("Signalling") port and RTP ports.

Panasonic Each Line can be allocated a different Local SIP Port ("SIP Source Port") under "VoIP" ➔ "SIP Settings" ➔ 'Line x'.

The RTP port settings will be found in the "VoIP Settings" menu.
