Changing My Phone's Local SIP & RTP Ports

Setting your VoIP phones to use unique and relatively high local SIP and RTP (Audio) UDP ports can avoid many router and firewall related issues

Some multi-line VoIP devices use a Global Local SIP port (e.g. Aastra, Siemens Gigaset and Snom devices).
Other multi-Line devices use a different Local SIP Port for each active Account or Line (e.g. Grandstream, Yealink deskphones and Cisco/Linksys Small Business devices).

The Local SIP Port is sometimes called the SIP Signalling, Listen, or Source port . The Local RTP Ports may be called Audio or Media ports.

If your phone has an option to use Random Ports please disable this.

Snom:
Under Advanced --> SIP/RTP the Local SIP Port is called the 'Network Identity Port' and the Local RTP Ports are called the 'Dynamic RTP Port Start/End'

Grandstream:
The 'Local SIP Port' is located in the 'Account' menus and the 'Local RTP Port' will be in the 'General' or 'Advanced Settings' menu.
Each Line or Account can be allocated a different Local SIP Port.

A different Local SIP Port value should be chosen for each active line.
