CSIP Simple (Android)

 CSIP Simple is available for download from the Google Play Store here.

 To configure CSIP Simple you'll need your SIPID and SIP Password (not your web login credentials).

CSIP Simple Quick Set Up:

 The settings in the following images or your personalised configuration guide found here will help set up the CSIP Simple application with your sipgate team account:

 After installing and opening CSIP, select Add Account.

Next, under Worldwide Providers, select sipgate UK:

 Enter your SIPID and SIP Password:

 After clicking Save, CSIP will register online:

 If you've problems registering CSIP Simple or with making calls, in CSIP's Network Settings Enable STUN and enter the STUN Server: stun.sipgate.net

 In the Media menu, CSIP offers different codecs for WiFi and 3G connections. We recommend using lower bandwidth codecs with 3G connections (see below).

 

CSIP Simple Manual Configuration:

 After installing and opening CSIP, select Add Account and choose the Expert setup Wizard:

 

 The following settings will help you configure CSIP Simple with sipgate basic:

Account name: sipgate
Account ID: < sip:SIPID@sipgate.co.uk >
Registration URI: sip:sipgate.co.uk:5060
Realm: sipgate.co.uk
Username: SIPID
Data (password): SIP Password (not your web login password)
Transport: UDP
Register timeout (sec): 600
Proxy URI: sip:sipgate.co.uk
STUN for SIP: Disabled
STUN for Media: Disabled

 After saving your settings, return to the Dialpad and select Menu --> Settings --> Network. Please ensure the Expert settings Wizard is enabled:

Use the following Local SIP and Local RTP Port values:

UDP - Enable UDP Transport: Checked
UDP Port - port number to bind locally: 46160
RTP port - Port for RTP port range start: 46104

 

Testing your Phone's Set Up:

To test your phone's configuration dial the following sipgate numbers:

  • 10000
  • 10005
  • 10020

Problems?

If you have problems registering CSIP Simple online or making calls, in CSIP's Network Settings Enable STUN and enter the STUN Server: stun.sipgate.net

In CSIP's Account Settings offers choose to enable STUN for SIP, STUN for Media (RTP) or both.

 In the Media menu, CSIP offers different codecs for WiFi and 3G connections. We recommend using lower bandwidth codecs with 3G connections:  

Supported Audio Codecs and Nominal Bandwidth 

GPRS and EDGE connections will allow CSIP to register, but are not recommended for VoIP calling.

 CSIP provides a wide range of advanced options to tweak its operation. For advanced configuration and support contact the developer.

 

Using Multiple Phones Behind the Same Router:

If there's more than one VoIP phone/device on the same local network, assigning each different local UDP ports will avoid port conflicts.

For each SIP Phone or device you add, increment the local ports used by 100.
