What is sipgate trunking?
Update: The trunking details page has been cleaned up and made more user-friendly.
sipgate trunking connects your VoIP telephone system to the public telephone network through sipgate. Instead of registering each individual phone, the entire telephone system is registered for VoIP communication. The connection works for both incoming and outgoing calls just like a regular system/PMx connection.
Since we support the SIP standard, all dialed numbers in your phone system can be processed, and any sender number can be set for outgoing calls. Additionally, there is a wide range of devices available for use. For questions about setting up devices, please contact the system manufacturer.
For more information, please refer to our product description for sipgate trunking.
What happens with trunk in and trunk out?
With trunk in, incoming and outgoing calls are made over the Internet, eliminating the need for a landline connection. If you want to continue using your existing number range, you will need to port the numbers to sipgate.
With trunk out, the system connection can remain on the landline. Incoming calls are delivered via the landline as usual. Only outgoing calls will use the sipgate connection. Outgoing calls are made over the Internet, but the landline number can still be displayed. The person receiving the call will not notice any difference from a call made via the landline.
What trunking tariffs are available?
The various trunking contracts differ in the number of usable channels. This means the number of possible simultaneous calls is defined by the specific contract.
With sipgate trunking, you can choose from three different contract models:
- sipgate trunking 2 – includes 2 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.
- sipgate trunking 10 – includes 10 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.
- sipgate trunking 50 – includes 50 channels (incoming) and 100 outgoing calls.
Each contract has a duration of one month. The contract can be canceled the following month. You can switch contracts at any time with just a click. A detailed price list and more information are available on our website.
Trunking Details Page
An overview of your sipgate trunks can be found in the logged-in area under Account Management → Trunks. This overview page lists all configured trunks and provides key information such as location, status, consumed minutes, and any call restrictions at a glance.
By clicking on any available trunk, you can view additional details such as the emergency location, fallback number, and all assigned numbers for that trunk. Individual trunks can be selected, renamed, and deleted with a single click on the overview page.
The phone numbers of individual trunks are now displayed in a collapsible menu. Also new is the display of the online status for each trunk. Additionally, the selection of phone numbers for individual trunks has been improved. You can now see which numbers are already taken and which are still available. The process for booking new numbers has also been simplified.
The trunk details page can now also be easily viewed on tablets and smartphones.
