Why is my Asterisk registered but unable to make or receive calls?

If your Asterisk IPBX is registered to the sipgate network but you still cannot make or receive calls, you’ll need to run specific commands in the Asterisk console to diagnose the issue.

To do so, please use the following two commands

  • sip set debug
  • core set verbose 10

If you are still working with the Asterisk version 1.2, please use the following two commands instead

  • sip debug
  • set verbose 10

Once you've entered the above commands, please then make a test call or two. The log messages now appearing on the console should assist you in diagnosing the problem.
