How do I book new phone numbers?
Account Administrators can purchase new phone numbers at any time in their sipgate account.
A phone number can be allocated to a User or Group.
The first UK phone number is part of your monthly sipgate plan without additional costs.
Local phone numbers
As an admin, go to Phone Numbers and click on Book to select local numbers.Next click on Book.
If you have multiple locations set up, you can choose the desired location and area code when booking local numbers. After selecting the quantity, you’ll see available numbers that you can book.To obtain and use UK numbers, you need at least one verified location in the UK. International numbers can be booked without verification.
Select the number (or number block if available) you require. Then complete the booking.
Your automatic recurring crediting limit will be increased to account for the cost of your newly booked number plan.
International Numbers
International numbers have some specific requirements. For some, we need to collect proof of address from you; if so, we will notify you via email. Additionally:
- International numbers cannot be booked in blocks.
- A maximum of four concurrent incoming calls is allowed.
- International numbers cannot be used for incoming fax, SMS, or data communication.
- If an international number is set as caller ID, calls or faxes to special numbers like 0800 may not be possible.
- International numbers cannot be listed in public directories.
- You cannot port (transfer) international numbers.
- For legal reasons, we cannot guarantee that international numbers will be transmitted when calling non-European countries. Within the European Economic Area (EEA), number transmission depends on the recipient's phone provider. In some cases, your German number may be displayed instead of the international number.
For more details on current regulations, please refer to the Telecommunications Act and Decision 44/2022 of the Federal Network Agency.
