Setting up and using 999 emergency services with sipgate
Activating your 999 emergency location
To contact UK emergency services (999) from your sipgate account, you must set up a valid UK address as your emergency location. Foreign addresses are not accepted.
- Go to Account Administration → Locations → + Add Location
- Enter your UK address and submit it for verification
- Once verified, you’ll receive an email confirming activation (this may take a few days)
You can check your emergency status anytime in your account settings.
Assigning an emergency location to a device
Each phone in your sipgate account must be assigned a verified emergency location. This ensures that emergency responders receive the correct address when a 999 call is placed.
For Admins
- Go to User Overview and select a user
- Click on a device and open Device Settings
- Assign an existing verified emergency location
For Users
- Go to Telephony Settings and assign an emergency address to your landline connection
- Or, open Device Overview, select a device, go to Device Settings, and assign an emergency location
Important: Emergency locations cannot be entered manually. Only verified locations linked to a sipgate account and phone number can be assigned
