How do I set up my VoIP devices, softphones and router for VoIP calls?

How do I configure a VoIP device or softphone?

Every Useraccount comes with a VoIP phone, visible as a telephony endpoint or interface. This interface must now be connected to a desk phone, softphone, or other device to enable calls. Navigate to the appropriate User in Accountmanagement section via the User tile. Click on the device you wish to configure. An info box will open, displaying all the details required for configuration: enter the SIP ID, registrar, and password into your device or softphone to complete the setup and enable calling.
Users can also configure their devices themselves. In the navigation bar, click on Telephony to find the devices and proceed as described above. For more information on adding Users, see the article How do i sept up a sigpate account?.

Testing your device
After configuration, you can test whether your device is working correctly by dialing the test number 10000. If you can reach this number, your device is set up correctly.

Important: If you have automatic prefixing enabled, you will not be able to reach the test number 10000.

Plug & Play (Auto-Provisioning) for snom D-Series Phones

Plug & Play, also known as auto-provisioning or remote configuration, allows quick and easy setup of snom DXXX phones. Please note that Plug & Play is not available for VoIP sub-accounts. If multiple phones are assigned to a user, each phone will appear as a separate account on the device.

Note: Ensure your snom DXXX device has firmware version 10.x or later.

Now log in to your sipgate account as an admin and navigate to Accountmanagement. Click Plug & Play.

Add a device by entering the MAC address and the User's name. The MAC address can be found on the packaging, on the underside of the phone, or in the System Information menu on the display.

After connecting the phone, it will download the configuration file and be ready to use. If needed, you can manually adjust the configuration file using the XML editor. To reassign the phone to a different user, click the gear icon in the top-right corner and make the change.
