How to assign internal extension numbers to users and groups in your sipgate account, including restrictions and dialing instructions.
With an extension number, all users within your account can reach each other without dialing the full phone number. Additionally, extensions are required for using presence status. If you're using snom phones, you'll also need extension numbers to configure the Busy Lamp Field (BLF).
Only administrators can assign extensions. Users can have multiple internal extensions but only one extension per routing.
Assigning an extension to a user
Open the account settings and navigate to the Users section.
Select the user you want to assign an extension to.
Click Edit, then select Add Extension.
Enter the desired extension number.
Click Save, then exit the editing mode.
Note: For mobile phones, extensions should always be three or four digits long.
Assigning an extension to a group
Open the Groups section in the account settings.
Select the group you want to edit.
Click Edit Routing in the Visual Routing interface.
Add the desired extension number.
Save the changes.
